Hiroshima 1/7/12

We're on the train to spend the day in Hiroshima. I love the cute outfit this little girl is wearing! And wouldn't my granddaughters love that sequin cat purse . . .

Looking through the street car doors as we cross a river.

We're lunching at Andersen's on Hondori Street & the balloon man is just outside our window.

Hot cappuccino on a cold day - yum!

And our lunch sets. Stan already finished his cup of soup. My soup is pumpkin & it's DELICIOUS!

Don't remember what building was across the street, but it's gone now & by the next time we come, there will be something new . . .

Meanwhile, the balloon man is making lots of children smile!

In the flower shop of Andersen's - amaryllis always remind me of Stan's mom. She had many around her yard.

Upstairs on the 3rd floor, I found all sizes of cookie/biscuit cutters nested together. I'm looking for a new 8x8 pan to replace my scratched up one.

Downstairs in the bakery (first floor) I found some misbehaving turtle sweet buns. But they are smiling . . .

We were looking for dragon cookies to send to our grandchildren, but only found these buns with a dragon imprinted - cute, but can't send those to the US . . .

Dragon face . . . 2012 is the Year of the Dragon.

Ume (plum) bonsai - beautiful!

This area was very popular and smelled delicious! The chef was making lots of these donuts and they were selling very fast!

Heart-shaped pans!

Yes, that's Stan buying us a bag of hot ones!

Sign on an automatic door. Can't read Japanese, but the message is VERY clear!

In Starbucks looking for their newest coffee travel mugs.

At Tokyu Hands, I found cute mouses (mice?) with colorful tails.

And in the paper clip department . . .

How Japanese is this!?!?! Rock, scissors, paper!

Back at Iwakuni Station downtown, the tree-shaped lights are still up above the bus station.

Oh - the flower shop outside the station is still open - we have to buy flowers! Theirs are always so fresh & last well.

And at home the next day - here are my flowers from last night - beautiful!
