JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Halloween! 10/31/11

BEFORE - Here is our group of pumpkins - so the planning and designing begins . . .

And Stan makes the first cut - yikes! But don't worry - not blood, but apple peels. Haha, Stan!

Cleaning out the inside. We saved all the seeds & I roasted them - yum!

And AFTER - pumpkins decorate the hallway outside our apartment.

Wait - "one of these things is NOT like the others" . . . (remember that song, Sesame Street fans?)

Coincidentally and VERY mysteriously, most of the hallway lights "went out" just before it was time for the T or T'ers . . . and next thing we knew, it began to happen all the way around our floor! So weird! But it seems to happen every year just about this same time . . .

Looking down our hallway to the right . . .

And outside, we can hear "them" approaching . . .

And heeeeeeer they come . . .

Beautiful Snow White.

Some of our visitors were quite large . . .

And some were quite small.

But ALL were so cute!

This is our friend Julie standing with Bob. No one recognized her . . .

Spooky hallway lights. Our neighbors are really getting into the mood!

And some of our neighbors down the left side are already planning for next year!

Lots of activity near our door. A few of the Japanese children even brought us treats: origami and Japanese snacks!

Hmmm - I have to wonder what "tall tales" Stan is telling these unsuspecting boys . . .

Closeup of our carved pumpkins with their blinking led lights that change color - cool!

After T or T ended, we all (Stan, Julie and I) went out for sushi, and when we returned home, our neighbors had awarded us First Place! Wow!!!!!

What neighbors we have - they said we motivated them . . . So, now we start planning for next year!
