A very high river. All of eastern & middle Japan received LOTS of rain during the typhoon.
Himeji Station
Ferris wheel & interesting-looking building atop a hill as we speed by.
Perfect, bright green rice fields against mountainsides.
Panasonic building - factory, maybe? . . .
With all its rivers & canals, Japan is covered up with infrastructure . . . and everything always seems VERY well maintained.
And there's the Okayama Dome again on a brighter day. It always intrigues me.
Beautiful countryside - and looks more familiar. I've MISSED Western Japan!
Stan's using the plug on both sides of the train (it's gotten pretty empty now) to charge his electronic toys.
He's moved to the other side - look at all that foot room - even for him! This is why we ride the trains to Tokyo instead of flying . . .
Oh - finally! The gold-colored words say "Hiroshima." This is where we change trains for one that stops in Iwakuni. But we've decided to go to Molly Malone's for dinner here & maybe catch the last few sumo matches before we return home. Besides, if we ride the local train to Iwakuni, we will have a shorter (and cheaper) taxi ride from the local station, instead of the Shin station.
