JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! There are some very good pictures here!

This little girl was in her own little (artistic) world!

Inflatable bugs! These gigantic beetles (real ones) are actually kept as pets in Japan and we saw on TV the other day where they hold "sumo" matches. One beetle actually pitches his opponent off the ring!

Flower shop still open during the festival.

I love the flowers in the red wagon!

One of the many portable street lights in the middle of the street, which was running on the QUIETEST generator we've ever heard. And as a bonus, it looks like a robot!

Festival decoration hanging above the street.

But Stan can reach it.

A shortcut to the street behind . . .

We bought ice cold bottled tea from this man who proudly shows off his Obama shirt.
