Moms & kids next to us on the grass. The dads arrived later - likely after work.


Mom casually stopping her young daughter from toppling over the retaining wall . . . no rails, no fences & yet no one fell - all day.


I never get tired of this view . . .


And it's about 7 PM - the half-moon has risen . . .


Cormorant fishing boats & dinner boats in the river in front of us.


The crowd grows around us and the water stills . . .


Wow! Look at that perfect reflection of the Kintai Bridge!


Lanterns have turned on in the cherry trees above us.


Wow - look at all the lights across the river. Guess we should have gone over there this afternoon, but it's been so nice here in the shade of the trees.


And it's almost time for the fireworks to begin!
