Very short tunnel carved out of solid rock. The blue mesh to the right keeps rocks from falling onto the narrow road.


Narrow Hwy 187 passing through a small village.


On the other side of the Nishiki River, we see the colorful Nishiki Trolley just approaching a tunnel. The trolley runs right alongside the river, but on the opposite side from the highway - right against the mountainside.


Shops & homes close to the highway in another small village.


The road sometimes crosses back & forth over the river. This is a very beautiful drive!
