JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Me on my bike on the stone river bridge in Tsuwano.

Notice the concrete walkway to each building over the canal alongside the street. You have to really pay attention here!

This is where they sell wasabi ice cream but we bought sakura (cherry) today. Yum! Of course the last time we were here, Stan had to have wasabi - actually good, but a little "hot" . . .

Stan outside the wasabi store - everything for sale here contains wasabi. We were shocked to realize that there were no tour buses here today. Last time there were hundreds of tourists & tour buses in this area. The disaster in Northern Japan is hurting tourism all over Japan. Very sad.

The building where beautiful hand-made washi paper is produced and sold. No tourists here either.
