This beach is deserted today. Still a little too cold to walk barefoot, but lots of treasures await us here. This is where we can pick up tiny sanded pieces of sea-glass & sea-china. I always wonder where it comes from . . .
My favorite rock along Hwy 188 as we head back toward Yanai & lunch.
Stopping at our favorite restaurant in Yanai (near McDonald's) I ordered the tempura set lunch - beautiful large ebi (shrimp) & veggies with all the trimmings.
Stan's regular - seasalt-grilled red snapper set. Inside the peppermint-stripped dish is egg custard with lots of surprises inside. Oishi (delicious) as always!
Overhead lights & beautiful bamboo ceiling inside this traditional restaurant.
After lunch, we're heading back to Iwakuni. This is my favorite house along Hwy 188 - faces the Seto Inland Sea & Oshima Island Bridge - what a view!
Racing a freight train - but he's winning . . .
Back home, my nautilus seashells & starfish found on the beach are a nice addition to my dining room table.
And look at all the sea-glass & sea-china we found on the beach today! I'm going to tile something with all this one of these days . . . This was really the first day we've gotten out to just have fun since the horrific disaster, and it felt good to think about something else for a little while.
