JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! March Hikari Sunday Market 3/26

Driving over the Monzen Bridge early Sunday morning. Tide is in & water is calm.

And going down the other side of the bridge toward the Monzen Gate - we're still on MCAS, but we're heading out toward Hwy 188 to drive south (west) toward Hikari, about an hour & half for us because we'll make one stop on the way. If you look on the left side of the page, there's an interactive Japan map & you can zoom in & out (+ & -) to see where we live & where we're going!

Waiting at the traffic light to turn left onto Hwy 188. I see by the large clock that it's 8:30 AM - early for a Saturday morning! The covered area underneath the sign & clock is a bus stop.

Going over a canal that drains into the Seto Inland Sea. These houses have a nice view!

Waiting at a traffic light while we're being passed by a freight train. The train track & Hwy 188 both wind along the seacoast on most of this drive.
