Riding our bikes in Tsuwano, we pass a small pond with huge fish. We're headed toward the river bridge and the huge stone Torii, where we turn to go to the 1000 Torii gates that wind up the mountain. I REALLY want to make that climb that we didn't have time for last time. (Stan's not so sure!) After riding in the car for several hours, it feels good to get some exercise and it's midday - and warm and sunny, so why not?
We've parked our bikes in a little park near the river, across from the entrance, and I've got my socks, scarf & gloves on. I'm ready!
