Just as amazing coming back down & looking up. Thank goodness there were plenty of places to stop & rest. Going down stairs is so much more difficult for me, but I was determined to do it!


Looking down into the valley of Tsuwano. See the river at the bottom? We're going to ride along it tomorrow & see what we can find "far from the "madding crowds". . .


I love this perspective! Sorry I took so many of these torii gates, but it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me! And I couldn't help but wonder about all the feet that had trodden these stone steps before me . . .


A small prayer shrine at the bottom (Thank you God that I could climb up & down this hillside!)


Near our bikes and this amazing rustic stone lantern, Stan patiently (???) waits for me . . .
