JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Inside this open, orange tunnel. I think it represents the 1000 torii gates of Tsuwano that we'll soon see! The Nishiki River is visible down below us on the right side.

And one more tunnel under a very lush mountain. There are many tunnels in Japan.

Warning sign up ahead. Wish we could read!

Well, on the small sign on the left side it says it's 13 degrees C - that's 55.4 F. Last time we drove to Tsuwano (several years ago) there was snow everywhere, but it was just after Christmas.

Another sign tells us it's cooled down to 11C - 51F. Still not very cold, but the sign below shows how to put on your chains . . .
