JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Gift shop in the lobby.

These shelves on the left hold the yukata (to wear around the hotel) and steam bath clothes. We saw the steam bath area, but decided not to participate. I prefer onsen (hot bath) to steam only.

Main entrance to the hotel is around the back where the parking lot is, because of the way the hotel is situated on the hillside.

Closer view of the open (but curtained) entrance. Even though it was cold outside, this area was open. There was a locker area for outside shoes, and after you left your shoes, you proceeded through a set of glass doors to the heated lobby. No shoes were worn inside the hotel - only slippers. But we never found ours until we checked out to leave (fortunately, we both brought socks.) Then Stan remembered that he took the slippers out of the locker to put in our street shoes . . .
