Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! This road is getting steep & curvy as we head up the mountain.

Mount Komezuka is one of the inactive volcanoes inside the Mt Aso caldera. Legend says Aso's god of cultivation piled up harvested rice to create this fertile green hill.

Curvy, narrow road, AND open ditch along the side . . . our driver is a pro!

A different view of Komezuka, shows the crater on top.

We're nearly to the parking lot where we'll take a tramway to the top of a still active crater.
