Kumamoto, near Mt Aso Volcano 10/24

It's the next morning after we toured Mt Aso yesterday. We're heading into the hotel restaurant for breakfast. We tried to eat here last night, but they were closed. Today, we have free time until our 2:30 departure this afternoon, so we're thinking about touring Kumamoto Castle.


Fabulous buffet - lots of both Japanese & Western entrees.


Around the other side of the table - two different soups. We're told that most Japanese start every meal with soup. Stan got used to Japanese breakfast when he was hospitalized in Aug/Sept, but I still prefer Western-style.


Coffee, juice & tea bar. Yea! I can have my cafe latte!
