Iwakuni Festival 10/17/10

It's a gorgeous mid-October Sunday & we're heading downtown for the famous Iwakuni Festival today. Parking is VERY limited, so we're riding our bikes. Once outside the gate, we find beautiful sunflowers in someone's yard.


And these amazing bright pink, furry flowers, that I still don't know the name of.


We've turned off the main road to take this "shortcut" under the overpass that will take us to the pedestrian bridge. This is a better & less-crowded bicycle route. I have to get a running start going down, because it's uphill once I cross under! Yee-haaa!


I've crossed under & am looking back at the car bridge as we ride along the seawall headed toward the pedestrian bridge.
