JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Bright green fields with rich, volcanic soil. I think this is why everything grows so well here. Like the Shinkansen trains, the expressway is often elevated, so we are looking down at the beautiful countryside views.

At the rest stop, we're standing under the bridge that connects Honshu (the big island where we live) with Kyushu (the big island south & west of us).

Beautiful flowers outside the building. These happy statues mean that "soft cream" (ice cream cones) are served inside.

One more look before we leave - And a large cargo ship passes under the bridge. This gives you an idea how enormous this bridge actually is!

View as we drive over the long bridge.
