As we land, I see the bridge that goes from Osaka out to Kansai Airport. This airport was built out in the sea from reclaimed land - on it's own little island! Go RIGHT HERE to view a short video from National Geographic about this amazing building project, and how it was designed to slowly sink. Sadly, now we hear that it's sinking much faster than expected, and taking it's business down with it. . .
Inside Kansai. After a brief wait, we make it through the very organized line at Customs & Immigration. And a short walk takes us to where we board the airport shuttle to Osaka train station.
On the airport shuttle train going over the bridge that we saw when we were landing.
Approaching Osaka on the train. That ferriswheel is near the fabulous Aquarium that we toured when Holly visited us in April 2005.
