After a tearful farewell to family in Nashville, we're flying to Las Vegas today for a few more days with Heather and family before we return to Japan. It's nearly mid-August and almost time for us to go.
We were fortunate enough to get front row seats on this SouthWest flight so we have lots of room to stretch out! I usually don't like the center seat, but on this row, you can easily get up without disturbing anyone else. My feet are actually on the wall in front of me, and those are Stan's hairy knees to my right . . .
Wow - short flight across the country, and I always meet the most interesting people to talk with. Before I know it, we're almost there! Look at the color of that water in Lake Mead. It's always this amazing shade of blue. Suppose it's the bright sunshine or the mineral deposits? The white line along the shore shows how far the lake has gone down in recent years, although it's a VERY deep lake.
That's Hoover Dam on the right. Great view from here.
