Unfortunately, there were some smaller branches that were still alive on the rotted branch that had to come down.


Here, you can see the rotten area in the center of this branch stump where the carpenter ants were living. Now the stump will have to be removed as well.


They've tied a rope around the stump to control where it falls as Larry continues to cut with his Sawzall - a handy size tool to haul up into the tree.

And the tree is still plenty full, without the rotted branch . . .
