JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Inside the museum, there's the huge torch that Vulcan held all during my childhood. You could see if from all over - at least on our side of town. Green light meant no traffic fatalities that day, but red meant there had been at least one death. I miss seeing that light at night, but I now understand why Vulcan now holds the spear that he was originally designed to hold. Read all about it RIGHT HERE!

Riding the glass elevator up, we can see the tiled map of Birmingham in front of the museum that's below us.

This is where the "new" elevator joins the original tower. It's a little creepy, because you can see through the mesh in the floor!

So because I'm a little acrophobic, I'm hugging the wall for now . . .

But it's worth it for the beautiful panoramic views.
