Beautiful plantation home at Stone Mountain.
While the other grownups and bigger kids rode the rides at the park, Lisa, Stan and I took the younger children to the farmyard area to see the animals in an old-fashioned farm setting. It was a pretty long walk in the extreme heat, but very interesting. However, most of the animals had more sense than we did - they were sleeping!
I found a bench in the shade to avoid heat stroke . . . and thought these signs about how early settlers used native plants for medicines were very interesting. Of course, they learned these skills from Native Americans.
