JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Those look like oyster beds out in the sea.

Here's the onsen hotel where we want to each lunch today. We haven't been here in a while.

I love the way that this building looks like it's standing on two legs, overlooking the sea.

Cute corner potty.

Although it was pretty crowded, it didn't take us very long to get a table for two. This is Stan's lunch. For some reason, his always comes first, although it always takes me much longer to eat! Food is always brought out freshly cooked, and the rule is you eat when your food arrives . . . He's got sashimi (several varieties of raw fish); miso soup (still covered); sauce; pickles, white rice, steamed turnips & greens; steamed shrimp, fish paste & lotus, egg custard (still covered in small white bowl); and small dessert of gelatin & orange slice.
