JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! More azaleas in bloom. These remind me of the azalea hedge we had around the deck of our old house on 16th Avenue in Birmingham.

Map showing the coastline & Kasado Island.

Weeping double cherry blossoms that bloom a little later & have leaves at the same time, which most of the cherries don't. I finished a chigerie picture recently with this type of cherry blossom. These are the ones that the sakura tea is made from. Aren't they beautiful?

Large tanker out in the bay at Kasado Island.

Driving back over the bridge to the mainland, the color of the bridge is even more intense in the late afternoon sun.
