love leaves a memory no one can steal.
~From a headstone in Ireland
It’s been a sad week . . . My “little brother” Jerry Croney died in Arizona, after an heroic battle with an unexpected illness. He & wife Teddy were returning from a cruise in early November when he was rushed to the hospital in Ft Lauderdale, FL. During the next month in ICU with loving family members around, he fought to recover and was air-lifted to a Phoenix hospital, closer to home, where he improved, but he relapsed and passed peacefully on 2/22. I am heart-broken and remember him first as the nerdy little kid I met at age 9 in Soda Springs, Idaho, and later as the loving husband and father and successful businessman he became as an adult. He was always a caring uncle to my children and embraced Stan into his family. While we lived in Arizona, we enjoyed many memorable Old West sightseeing trips with Jerry and Teddy in their motorhome and by train. Memories have been flooding back and I’ve felt very far away here in Japan. Thank you Jerry for making my life richer just by knowing you, and my deepest sympathies to Teddy, sons Lanny and Jerry, and dear little sister Marcy, who will miss you every day. Here's a picture of Jerry and sister Marcy last Labor Day weekend . . . and view this video tribute created by his wife of some of their many trips together.

sometimes it really is a hardship being so far from home. I am sorry to hear about your loss.
