JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Day in Hiroshima 11/14

FIRST OF ALL -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LISA ON 11/14!

It's Saturday morning & we've ridden our bikes to the Iwakuni Station. We're standing on the platform watching another train's electrical contacts unfolding & raising up to connect with the overhead power lines. Electric trains are so cool!

Pretty house near the train track. Property close to the tracks is actually MORE expensive here, because of convenience. Electric trains are very quiet . . .

Crossing one of the rivers in Hiroshima. Nice park area alongside.

On the other side of the river are beautiful (probably) cherry trees in autumn color, and apartment buildings. I'll bet their view is fantastic!

We're on the Hiroshima Streetcar now. What a great way to get around downtown! Old and new . . .

We got off at Hatchobori stop & are looking for lunch. Prayer chains are hanging in shopping mall.
