JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! After a delicious lunch at Andersen's restaurants on the 2nd floor, Stan leaves to go to another dental appointment while we tour the other floors of this interesting building. You can learn to make this in bread artwork in Andersen's baking class. Andersen's building was a bank, originally built in 1925, and it partially survived the atomic bomb in 1945. Read more about it's history here: http://www.andersen-group.jp/english/denmark.html

In the baking ingrdients area, this bottle of imported molasses is quite pricey! I used to use this brand of molasses when I made gingerbread houses at Christmastime.
Pretty table setting.

The silverware is resting on a little ceramic hashioki - like a chopstick holder.
