JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Sandy shows me a beautiful jade (or probably celadon) vase she bought for only 500 yen (about $5). What a bargain! Read about celadon here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celadon

A roof tile on the ground is stamped, "Made in Japan." People have to watch out for these sliding off roofs during earthquakes.

Sandy's grinning as she comes out of the unisex potty. There was a man inside at the urinal when she came out of the stall. At least the "sitters" have privacy . . .

Difficult to see, but the little black sign on the back of this car reads, "Cool Very" -- so does it have cold AC or hip passengers?

We've stopped at our favorite restaurant in Yanai for lunch. Here Stan gets to pick out the fish he wants grilled.
