The first apartment at the bottom of the stairs on the first floor is where Margaret Mitchell wrote "Gone With the Wind."


Originally, the door had separate card with her maiden name and her husband's name, but when the neighbors objected, he had a "Mr & Mrs" card printed & hung on the door.
