JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! In the deli department, there's always something different being made fresh here.

Oh yum, they're little fish-shaped cakes with different creams inside: sweet bean, vanilla, choco, strawberry, melon & (we think) chestnut. He gives us a sample so of course we have to buy a few! They are delicious & still warm!

These are the "folding"forms that these little cakes cook in on top of a gas fire. Each side is perfectly shaped with the cream inside.

Look how detailed they are.

We've decided it's time to eat lunch. We've been missing Tokogawa Okonomiyaki restaurant that we used to go to downtown behind the YMCA. It closed last winter, but we heard it moved out to Route 2, so we're going to try to find it. We're across the street from Colonel Sanders Chicken, when I spot the blue sign. The restaurant downtown used to have blue awnings, so I'm hoping this is it.
