Long Bike Ride Around MCAS Iwakuni 3/15

It's a beautiful Sunday afternoon & we're going out for a bike ride today. This is the view from the front of our building, looking toward the townhouses.


There's our little car -- Stan's been checking the air in our bike tires with the automatic pump he keeps in the car.


We've passed the North Gate and are continuing around the perimeter road that circles the base. There's a canal that runs alongside this part of the road, where I found a large bird enjoying the water.

We're approaching the north end of the runway. I wish jets would take off now, but we've never been here at the right time -- that would be so cool!

Stan's in front of me as we go around the first big turn past the north end of the runway.

See the wind sock? The wind is really blowing today. That mid-rise building across the runway is where we live.
