JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! I ordered the "standart" type of okonomiyaki. Yum! I don't think I've had any since last winter & it's such great comfort food during cold winter weather. I've never had specific cooking directions before. This says that after I stir my ingredients together, I should "burn each side for 4 minutes -- start the sandglass" (hourglass). They even provided a glass lid to cover the mix, and I had to be sure that the size was "about 16 cm size" in order to fit under the lid. Precise.

Looking around the restaurant.

After dinner, we walked around the mall some more. These kimono outfits are on sale for nearly $2000 each! But aren't they gorgeous!

They are all very beautiful -- I've never seen fur on kimono before. Guess it's because it's a lot warmer where we live . . . ?
