Outside, we find a sample of the beautiful carved stone inside. This small museum, details art and trade between China and Persia. There were beautiful items on display, but everything had Japanese signs, so we had to try to figure out the information. There was a very friendly docent, who explained everything carefully -- also in Japanese. It was worth going, though, although I was not allowed to take pictures. Here's a website so you can see what we saw:

After the museum, we walked a short distance, crossed the wide street & entered the covered Omotecho Shotengai shopping street.
Can you tell that this seating area around a tree is shaped like a giant guitar?
And this one is shaped like a grand piano!
