JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Shopping at Nafco

Gas price in mid-November on base -- still $4.53/gal! I'm glad we only buy a tank about once a month . . .

Off base now -- a freight train is above the square tunnel we're headed for.

We're shopping at Nafco today -- kind of like Home Depot. These tables have heaters underneath so you can stay warm in the winter. Japanese homes do not typically have central heat or air, so my friend, Jun-ko tells me she sits at hers not only to eat, but write letters, read, or just relax & stay cozy. The built-in quilt keeps in the heat.
