JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Watching US History Being Made Today . . .

From 7,000 Miles Away . . . When I went to bed last night (Tues in Japan), the polls in the US were just beginning to open on election day. When I woke up (early) this morning, some polls will soon close. I'm glued to the TV news all day today -- not even biking to the pool for my morning workout! It's exciting to watch long lines across the US -- I'm so proud to see Americans interested and involved in this process. In my lifetime, I've never seen such excitement about an election! Whatever you believe, this is GOOD for our country. The whole world is watching America today . . .

If you haven't read about our absentee voting experience back in October, read here: http://japanadven.blogspot.com/search?q=absentee (scroll down the page a little).

We are so excited! Just printed off an electoral college map so Lauren can color along with the coverage. She got to fill in the circle for president today! She will remember this forever, and so will I.
