JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Interesting shot with Stan's moustache on the right edge.

Yum! Lunchtime on the train and we've bought our bentos. Stan's looks like furai (fry) shrimp or chicken, rice, cabbage & other bits of goodies.

Mine's terriyaki pork (or chicken?) on a bed of rice with tiny, squiggly yellow goodies (never know if this is cheese or what, but very delicious!), and cabbage. On the left side was a soft-cooked carrot & maybe a turnip & a bit of potato salad. I don't remember what the orange noodle-looking stuff was. As always, everything was delicious & very filling.

About 5.5 hours after we left Iwakuni, we've made it through Tokyo Station & found the local line to Fussa -- thanks primarily to Jake who grins at me on the local train. Another hour & we'll be there. It's not very crowded this time of day -- early afternoon, so we all found seats.
