JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Beautiful little girl in kimono. Read more about kimono & obi (tied sash) here: http://www.japanesekimono.com/kimono.htm

From the back you can see her "butterfly" tied obi (although hers is a little crooked). This is the bow worn by unmarried women.

Workmen doing something on a tiny island in the pond.

Oh, they're trimming a beautiful pine & they've used this small boat to get there.
