JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Memorial Weekend -- Train Trip to Yamaguchi City

Azalea blooming near the Iwakuni Station. We're off to Yamaguchi City today, but we're going to take a diesel train that travels through the countryside.

The blue list of numbers indicates the hours the trains leave. We're traveling the Gantoku Line today toward Tokuyama (left side) & we're taking the 9:55. Notice only about 1 train an hour . . .

We usually take the Sanyo Line that travels along the sea. There are many more trains per hour on this line (usually about every 10 minutes.)

Stan buys our tickets & we have about 10 minutes to get over to the right track.
