Waiting to get through the bicycles. There are more bicycles here than cars!















Although it is currently closed for renovations, this is the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, where Mao Zedong's body is preserved by freezing in 5 gallons of formaldehyde, although he wished to be cremated. When this hall is open to the public, each morning his body is raised from its freezer, placed on display, and then lowered when the last pilgrim leaves.
















Part of the Great Wall that was destroyed within the city when the freeways & buildings were built in Beijing. Our guide told us that weddings are sometimes performed here.
