JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Look at the cute car keys you can have made here!

Well, it's Flat Stanley's last day in Japan and he's resting in Grandma's favorite chair before his long trip. We've had a wonderful time, and there's so much more to see, but it's time to return to Arizona. If you're not familiar with the children's book, Flat Stanley is a little boy who is flattened by a bulletin board that falls on him while he's sleeping. He decides it's fun to be flat and there are many different things he can do. He can mail himself around the world and visit new places. But finally, he gets tired of being flat, and his sister uses a bicycle pump to "round him up" again. Our Flat Stanley was made by Kelly, our 6 year old granddaughter who lives in AZ, and is waiting for her baby brother to be born any minute! Thanks, Kelly for sharing Flat Stanley with us.
