Traditional New Year's decoration hanging above a door. These stay up until January 14, when they are all taken down & burned in a huge bonfire. As the flames and smoke rise, people pray for heath & blessing for the new year. We're going to try to attend this festival at the Kintai in Iwakuni this year. Posted by Picasa
