Downstairs area of the ferry where the cars travel, but we seldom see cars on these ferries. It's very expensive to take a car over, and there's not much area where you can drive on Miyajima Island. We're hoping to rent bikes when we arrive at the station. We got electric-assisted bikes last time & those were fabulous for going up hills!
