JAPAN ADVENTURE

Welcome to Margie & Stan's Japan Adventure - our photo blog while living on MCAS Iwakuni in beautiful Yamaguchi Prefecture in Western Japan from 8/2004 to present. My photo above is the famous Kintai Bridge right here in Iwakuni. Be sure to check out Blog Archive (below left) for highlights of our travels. And leave us a comment - we'd love to hear from you! Here we are at the annual Yanai Goldfish Festival. We still don't know why they have it or what it symbolizes, but Yanai is the only town in Japan that does it. The fireworks alone make it worth going to see. We went down on the train. We got there just in time to see this dance. The ladies ranged in age from 3 to 83, maybe 93. As you will see later, we had an excellent guide, Hiroshi, who goes with us on many adventures. Posted by Picasa
