Kintai Bike Trip

On October 15, Stan & I rode our bikes to the Kintai Bridge area of Iwakuni. This is the 3rd most popular tourist attraction in all of Japan, especially in spring during the cherry blossom season. This is the area that was most damaged during Typhoon Nabi back in August. When we returned home, we realized that we had ridden over 10 miles this sunny Sunday afternoon.

We think this elderly couple lives in this converted streetcar along the river. The woman was sweeping the yard with a hand-made broom. She is bent at the waist. She will remain bent like that in her old age because of that broom.
